Has anyone ever travelled to Lorea springs station just north of
cape Crawford in the Gulf country and onto there fishing
camp ground. I am about to do a trip there and was wondering what the track conditions are like.

Iwas at Lorrella Springs last year(Sept) and I can say it is a very nice spot to spend a few days to relax with a lovely
camp ground and hot springs. It is approx. 35kms
off the main drag and is good gravel road. The access to the coast(Ididn't do) as time was limited is apparrently more 4w.d. but no problem.Highly reccommended.

Viro,
I was at
Lorella springs in July last year. Leon the caretaker at the time advised that the road to the fishing
camp (not the main
camp)would guarantee vehicle damage and that extensive winching would be required. The owner was up there at the time and may have since decided to grade it. Suggest you ring for update. They had a website last year.
Cheers
Kevin

hi viro
I have just returned from a fishing trip ( limmen bight ) just up from Lorea springs station. the road from
Cape Crawford to Limmen bight was fine ,we were in a 100 TD cruiser with KK camper and a 3.5 boat on top of camper. Fishing was average not a good wet season main rains came from cyclone. we also fished the Roper a few Barra nothing to big. the tacks are little dusty but with care not a problem.
regards Robbo
