There is mapping software available for PC's, which allows you to print out hard copies of topographic maps, for any area in Australia, in great detail. Is this software also ported for the mac platform? I don't want to connect my GPS, or anything like that, to my laptop, I simply only want to print out my maps of areas I wish to travel, prior to going away on trips.

Cheers

the natmap raster2005 does not support mac os Pity as these are really great maps

oziexplore only lists windows os on the back

not sure about track ranger try www.advantechdesign.com.au

westprint and hema have maps as well but youwill need TR or oziex to use the maps

Steve, I have been back a couple of days.

I am writing up a trip report, which will occupy around 13 pages of text. Depending on what EO says, I may post it up here on the forum.

Cheers

Mate,

Not sure if you want to go down this route, but you could put a PC emulator (software) on your Mac so that it will run Windows software.

See http://www.macwindows.com/emulator.html

Hi Wolfie,

There is another way to print them out if you have oziexplorer as the print function in that is quite good. Not sure if that runs on a Mac or not. I have been doing some printing of the maps from NatMap and found that I could get them sized better if I used ozi. I have to admit though that printing maps on A4 is not great as you either don't have enough detail or you have to join pages together. I would love to have an A3 printer. I don't have a mac though so none of this may apply :).

Tim.
