Hi All,

Recently had my GQ detailed and when they sprayed out the engine bay, they must have knocked something and the fuel gauge went to empty and I know there's at least 1/3 of a tank in there.. Have they knocked a wire? Does anyone know how i might fix this? Also, the Odometer has stopped on 190k.. I know this may work to my advantage but I don't feel right about not having genuine km's on there.. Any advise appreciated..

Cheers, Jez

Jez,
Check all your fuses....there are some under the dash, but I think there are others under the bonnet near the battery (there are on the GU and I reckon the same was the case on the GQ).

Hey Roachie,

Thnx for that, I wasn't aware that the odometer was controlled by Fuse but I will definitely check.. Cheers.

Odometer probably not controlled by fuse on GQ as it is a roller type I recall.....but fuel gauge would have a fuse. (Perhaps given the price of fuel, some low life syphoned some of your juice out while the truck was getting detailed).
Odometer should be controlled by cable to gearbox perhaps. Check underneath....(I just love spending time on my back under my Patrol).

Jez,
Did you buy the GQ second hand? Recently I bought 92 Maverick and the odometer got "stuck" clicking over from 209 699 to 209 700. Took it to a mechanic for repair as I needed the odo. for the warranty and found it had been wound back! The cogs that turn the numbers around had broken.Couple hundred bucks to repair, bugger. Wouldn't have a clue how many kays it's done.
