Ok I've had a reasonable look. *Ahem*
The "street sign" appears to be
home made. Given any aerial coverage of the event it was actually quite different and distinctive. Note how the size of the sign exactly fits the roof, unlikely that its a street sign, and the writing is good but not of sign standard.
First glance does indicate that the Lux is only being held up by a hilift, a very unsafe practice. The fellow with his head under the vehicle should know better. Note that they have at least placed the tyre under the vehicle side in case of a sudden drop.
What on earth gave you the impression that the guy at the front is drunk ? He has some sort of drink container in his hand, but so do many motor sports onlookers in Australia.
