The official Fuelwatch website yesterday published diesel at Coles Express in Scarborough at 125.9c/l, with 126.5c/l for today. So I rushed off last night to beat the price rise, and surprise, surprise!! It was already 126.9c/l! The guy at the counter confirmed the price, so I left without buying any. Advised Consumer Affairs (they are supposed to be provided with accurate prices by the fuel co's) and they're looking into it.
So it's only one measly cent, but this really cheeses me off, as it's not the first time this has happened to me. The fuel co's say that they made a mistake in providing the wrong info, but hey, they get you in there on the offer of one price, then charge something else, creating their own price advantage. Not much incentive to provide the correct price if they can get away with it.
(wishing I was up north right now)

Damn... wish Victoria had that scheme.

All states have the Shell website fuel finder which you can use to look up Shell fuel prices, but legislation forcing a price lock-in for 24 hours, and forcing advance notice of tomorrow's prices... as a consumer, I like it :-)
