I am new to OziExplorer and I am having trouble seeing how to use it so that the map stays still and my current position moves across the map.

I have moving map working fine. Reading help seems to infer it can be done but I can't where in the help files.

I have Ozi on a laptop and connected to a magellan 315 and all seems to work fine.

Thanks for any help forthcoming

Alan

In the menu bar click om Moving Map > Moving Map Control (Or Ctrl+M) then hit the drop down for the "SM" field and you will get 3 choices to choose from.

Thanks Time

On my version( just bought it) the three choices are
Keep map centred on position
center when near window edge
show more map in heading direction

Does the second on give me a moving position with the map still until I get to the edge of the map??????

Yes, the first option keeps you centred and the map moves, the second keeps the map still and you move, and the third keeps you further away from the edge of the map that you are heading towards (if that makes sense).

I find the first option is the best when on the move, you just need to glance at the centre of the screen rather than search the screen for your position.

Alan you can use the NMEA simulator for testing and setting preferences, moving map/nmea simulator and then start moving map or use the simulator within the gps

Is there a way of getting rid of all the menu stuff from the view so that only the map appears on screen.
I have a small screen in the truck and it would be an advantage to get more on screen and less menu stuff. I can't find any way of doing this.

Angler

At the extreme left of the toolbar there is an icon for hiding the toolbar (it goes into a small line)

You can also (if not already done) hide the taskbar at the bottom. Rightclick the task bar and then unlock it and then just drag it down off the screen. These two will make the map a little bigger.

I do not know how to just have full screen like you can with a picture.

Trust this helps
