Try the Pajero list. You will get better answers from more Paj owners.

Please what ever you do find post it back here for others :)

I have heard of problems, but not sure what yr..

What did Mitz say about it... cars 8 yrs old wouldnt expect them to say much... could be wrong.

Yes, this is a known problem with some models. Now, there was a mob in melbourne who weld on a gusset or similar to fix this prob. When I approached them they said it wasn't a prob with my NL model.

Yes! been there, done that.
Used to own an '88 NF and back in '95/96 I was travelling from Ceduna to Glendamo, SA via the dirt. Takes off a lot of k's instead of going to Port Augusta. We got about half way there when the off side collapsed. Sheared off the axle spline and that stopped the whole thing from collapsing. Spent 27 hours there until we were trailered out.

Lived in Alice Springs at the time. Lots of photos by Mitsubishi dealer, who sent them to Adelaide. Mitsubishi accepted liability for the break and I was advised that there had bee a few that had snapped. One was a current model at the time. Appears as the welding robot was out off alinement for the weld but was strong enough to hold for a while. The Paj had about 150k on it then. They replaced all parts and diff. I had to pay labour cost.

Give it a go, they might honour previous instances, hope so.
