Truckster (Vic)
Dude on Outerlimits called today to get a quote from AAMI.
The story goes:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Was just told by AAMI that joining a 4wd club would void my insurance policy on the Suzuki. So... I have 14 days to find someone better or do I just never tell them when I join?
They also seemed dodgy on what constitutes a "road"...enough to get me thinking they'll take my money and we'll end up in court if an accident arises on a 4WD track.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another story from AAMI ? Or just another pleb on the phone with no idea? Hope those singing the praises of AAMI arent in a club - not that AAMI would really know what to do by the sound of it.
Or was that just the story they told today..
Wonder what 3minutes time will bring ....?

Rang AAMI to
check that we we covered across ths simpson. Was told most definately as long as we were on a designated tracks. The person had to go away and double
check about 3 times, but was reasured a was. Was also told was covered 4wd'in as long as i wasnt doing something stupid, define stupid, he said something like going through a deep water crossing with out a snokel, reassured him i had a
snorkel lol.
They seem good to be, but have never had the need to make a claim...

Recently did the exercise for new insurance and no one came close to my policy ($$$). Have had the Jack with them for a while and other insurance through them.

A friend drowned his Rodeo in the Wongongara river a while ago without a
snorkel fitted.
AAMI accepted the claim for the new engine ($13000 all up).
Was he being stupid? arguably, but they paid anyway.
Now he has a
snorkel and a lift ! (Oh - and so do I because I went throught the same crossing in the Jack at the time but luckily the Jack is a bit taller than the Rodeo.)
I'm also insured with AAMI.

it doesn't matter what the staff of any insurance agencie tells you if it is not in writing in the policy it does not count. the insurance company is not responsible for what thier staff say, this has been quoted many times in court and has always been upheld by the courts. as for "not doing anything stupid" if they could show driving to the local shops in bad wheather was a stupid act and therefoe contributed to an accident, so got them out of paying they would. anything to stop a payout.

nobody came close in $$$.
I'd rather pay more and KNOW that Im covered.. but you never really DO know your covered until its too late.
Then again, I tried the DGA insurance - they were DOUBLE the others!
