Howdy all,
I have a GU 01 4.2TD Patrol and Im interested in wiring up the rear lights, does anyone know of a kit the can be ordered for the rear brake lights, indicators and reversing light.(Body Lights) If so would it be possible to have the part number for the kit and who supplies them, or is it just we buy seperate items from the local auto store.

Thanks heaps, I have been looking through the forum and already found some stuff I was looking for.

Thanks
Gary

Is that a cab/chassis with a tray fitted?

If it is, you just buy the lights you want from a auto store. Suggest you look at Hella as they have all the spares available and they are quality generally Australian made equipment. www.hella.com.au
You can also fit LED tail lights, which are not cheap, but are just the greatest as they do not blow, are waterproof, switch on substantially quicker than ordinary globes, and at 60km/hr means 4 metres extra stopping distance.
There will be an existing plug there just near the rear axle on the right hand side if it is a cab/chassis with all the tail light wiring. You will have to cut off the plug as you will not buy a mate unless you go to the wreckers and wire in the new tail lights. If you do not buy Hella tail lights, the only other half decent brand is Narva.

I'm sure the bumper lights do work, but he probably wants some decent lighting on the back of his vehicle.

Those bumper lights drop out at the drop of a hat - not something i would want to be relying on.

If the lenses are already in place, it seems ludicrous that the lights aren't operational.

I now remember a bit more about it.

Some blokes on Nissan list have done it, but are blowing fuses.. Not enough power or something. Check the archives on the Patrol list about it... See what ya come up with.

Take care.

Gary,

Not sure if this is correct, but i'm sure a mate of mine who owns a GU, said you could purchase all the necessary parts from a wreckers from the old Skyline tail lights.

Might be worth checking out.
