These are made by mechanical masochists from old air conditioning compressors. I don't believe anybody is stupid enough to actually make kits for vehicles. If you don't have air conditioning, then you can use the standard air conditioning brackets, idler pulleys, tensioning devices etc. However if you have air conditioning, then start to become a DIY mechanical masochist as the work involved with brackets, mounts, pulleys etc. is nothing short of a nightmare.

What is wrong with a good quality air compressor like the Grunter:

The identical power unit to this is sold by some so called specilised (read rip-off) 4WD outlets for $250 to $300.

What purpose do you want to put this compressor to?

Its really a case of "If you don't know ... you can't grow"

I already have an on board ARB compressor for diff locks and tyres etc, and after doing the fourbie tyres and sometimes the trailer tyres, this compressor starts to look like it could melt.
a second 12volt compressor is an option, however the 8 cfm capacity claimed by the "endless system", and the option of using air tools made it worth exploring.

Having said that, all of 4WD places I have called in Brissie have never heard of the Endless system. ( Kareela Engineering in Victoria ... a bit far away!!).
Somebody must make them ??

Just ordered the "Grunter" from Marlows via the Net. $68-50 including freight (Xmas special). I figured for that money I can't go wrong.

Steve I was in Supercheap yesterday, and they have a compressor which is the identical power unit to the Grunter. It comes in a reasonable bag, and a coil hose with the pressure gauge at the air/tyre chuck end. Price $149.00. Not worth the extra.

Nearly identical to the Supercheap unit, same power unit as the Supercheap and Grunter.
PRICE - a WHOPPING $249.00

Found another 4WD site that was flogging it at $289.00, again just slightly different to the Supercheap one, same power unit as the Grunter.
Just cannot find it again quickly.

There are good magazines, mediocre magazines and poor magazines, and then 4WD Monthly sets a new standard for bottom of the barrel.
Their so called 'articles' are obviously paid advertorials, and the advertising reflects that. I find it difficult to believe they can be so blatent and in the end what tantamounts to what I consider fraud.
