Hi. How much would a Late 2000 Model Toyota Landcruiser HZJ79 Series, 4.2L diesel in excellent condition be worth? One of my neighbours has one that he is considering selling as he no longer requires it. It would have to be one of the best Ive seen. It has air cond and a full service history at the Toyota Dealership-its been serviced almost every 5,000kms. It has obviously been maintained extremely
well and is in perfect running order. It has however done 240,000km's. What's it worth? He would probably let it go for 21 or 22000. If I had the money I would probably buy it as I know he has maintained it so
well and the body is almost like new as it has not done any hard work throughout its life. Its in
Adelaide. Any Comments/ responses would be appreciated. If you are after one I can give you his number, but be quick as it'll probably go as soon as he advertises it.
Cheers

Grey hair is hereditary, you get it from children. Baldness is caused by watching the Wallabies.

Cheers Geoff.
I had a look on that website and it came up with the following about it.
2000 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER HZJ79R
Utility 2dr Man 5sp 4x4 4.2D
National average price - private sale* $25,400 - $29,700
Price when new (RRP) $47,070
Does this seem about right?

Theres one that's been advertised in the Advertiser today for about that money - might be his.
240,000km is a lot, and no matter how
well maintained, the price will reflect this. Sounds like a reasonable price to be asking. That particular model was prone to a shaft breaking in the gearbox/transfer case. Toyota have a HD replacement, so I'd check whether that had been done.
At the SA Govt auctions the prices of these vehicles varies from about $25-34k for 2002-2004 models. The cheaper ones have usually done about 80k and may have been trashed up north or in the salt. The more expensive ones usually have done about 40k. And they still have factory warranty.
The HDJ79 turbo diesels usually cost $38-42k.
Cheers
Phil
