I have been considering a bushranger pro air @250. I do not expect it to be subjected to a heavy workload. Checking the archives good reports have been tabled on a similar model from super cheap autos.Does the SCA model come with the same 5 year warrenty.

Who really cares about the supposed five year warranty when there is such a *MASSIVE* price difference. The Grunter on the Marlows website:
http://www.marlows.com.au/6791582.html
$78.50
The SuperCheap one is the same power unit but comes with a 5 metre coil hose and the air gauge at the end of the hose and a reasonable quality bag for $149.00.

These five year warranties are nothing short of a wrot, as you will not still have your sales docket in five years time and they will have every reason why they will not honour the warranty. Trouble is 4WD stores are currently the worst rip-offs and have taken over well and trully from marine outlets.

Looking at the Bushranger website, their Bushranger 4X4 Power Air looks identical to the SuperCheap one they have on special for $19.95 down from $24.95.

Just checking out other prices on the Bushranger website is amazing stuff and just proves there are suckers born everyday.

Ozi,

Any idea if the Bushranger Max Air is available elsewhere at a cheaper price than the approx. price of $450?

Not to my knowledge, but an importer who presenty imports compressors when I asked if they were going to bring in something bigger, indicated they had one due mid-February. The one they bring in now is the same power unit as one of the other Bushranger compressors, and from what he said in the e-mail the power unit of this larger one is identical to the Bushranger Max Air.

From what i know about Pro air it seems that Supercheap large unit, Repco's Cyclone and Pro air are indeed a same unit. They are all made by CE and pump pretty much the same regardless of the claimed output. I have got a Cyclone and it is rated lower than Pro air but it pumps at the same speed (tested on 265 75 R16) given taken 10 sec. The price and few minor hose and gauge differences is what sets them apart. I paid $99 comparing to 275 or so for the Bushranger sticker and have one thing to say to Bushranger.....get real.

Bushranger ripoffs are no different to the masters of ripoff ARB and many of the other brands like Piranha. Marine stores used to be the kings of overcharging, but 4WD stores make them look like angels.
To date, I have never bought anything from a 4WD shop as you can always get it somewhere else cheaper and often better quality.

Ozi,
Does that mean that the Exploroz site has also over inflated prices?
