Hi Toohey,

I used to take mine out, but after the service manager told me about installing one and its benefits, I now leave it in as my decison to purchase was "based on his advice" !!!

PS. they are not detectable by interogating the EMC unit if a Dtronic has been installed then removed. In fact they cannot tell the Dtronic is currently installed (apart from visually) while interogating the EMC.
Its not what you drive, but how you drive it!

I always take mine out...
It takes 1 minute... Why risk it....
If it is in your vehicle and spotted by a do-gooder service old guy,, what if he makes a note somehow..,,, i dont know how,,, and it bites you on the arrrsse when your engine expires...
If it is taken out each time then you have less chance of rejection/...

I have never taken mine out when servicing over the last four and a half years. The dealer has never mentioned anything about it, and I have had no warranty claims knocked back, because of the Dtronic, however, in saying that, I have never had any engine issues for warranty claims, only roof lining, back door rattle, etc.
