Hi Toohey,
I used to take
mine out, but after the service manager told me about installing one and its benefits, I now leave it in as my decison to purchase was "based on his advice" !!!
Cheers
Captain
PS. they are not detectable by interogating the EMC unit if a Dtronic has been installed then removed. In fact they cannot tell the Dtronic is currently installed (apart from visually) while interogating the EMC.

I always take
mine out...
It takes 1 minute... Why risk it....
If it is in your vehicle and spotted by a do-gooder service old guy,, what if he makes a note somehow..,,, i dont know how,,, and it bites you on the arrrsse when your engine expires...
If it is taken out each time then you have less chance of rejection/...

Toohey,
I have never taken
mine out when servicing over the last four and a half years. The dealer has never mentioned anything about it, and I have had no warranty claims knocked back, because of the Dtronic, however, in saying that, I have never had any engine issues for warranty claims, only roof lining, back door rattle, etc.
