Gday, I just read Leonora's post 29746 and it reminded me of just how many people we all recommend EO to. It got me wondering about EO supplying cards with our membership renewals.

I just mean something with the web address and such on it. My thought is I often don't have a bit of paper or pen when I meet people I mention EO to, but always have my wallet in my pocket, and a card is a definite reminder when the person gets home. Otherwise they get home and remember they were going to look up some web site...but can't remember what.

I just wanted other peoples thoughts about the pros and cons of the idea, I know cost is a con, but what else?

Yea not a bad idea when we renew our membership David could put a few cards in
which we can keep in our wallet, car and hand out to interested persons. I know
I have wrote the site address down for 3-4 people

Brian,

This is a really good idea and has been put into production and we are getting the costs together to have x thousand of these produced and we will send them out with membercard, renewals and for people who ask/order them in the shop (they will be zero dollars with zero dollar freight so free order - similar to the sticker which is a zero dollar order product).

Damn good idea that! I could have used a dozen of them by now at least, including one for our new page sponsor below, three guesses who put him onto this site whilst purchasing his latest bottle of 'antiwear'.
Reckon the cost of the cards and postage would would be easily covered by new memberships alone, wouldn' it ?

Ah and thanks for the CEM referal. For the costs: membership is fully gone (and then some) on hosting charges however we will use a portion of our own advertising budget to cover this, as it fits in this area.

Don't know if it is already being done but maybe supply some of the site sponsors with the cards to hand out to their customers.

I know it sounds like the reverse way of going but it may help to keep the sponsors names in the faces of their customers if they do regularly visit this site. Would'nt hurt :))))

Or maybe as a cheaper alternative (or additional idea), just create a link to a page where people can print off a dozen or so at home. Perhaps an option for a black only copy or colour copy depending on the members/visitors choice.

Mike,

Good idea but we actually really like the suggestion as it will help us out also. We used to print a flyer document that was actually much more expensive however the business card approach is cheaper and will most likely work better.

Dunc,

To early for the cards - I have asked Michelle to arrange for several thousand to be printed and we are just waiting to confirm costs and suppliers.
