As I'm now retired and intending to return to prospecting, I thought that I'd fit split rims to my 100 Series GXL turbo deisel Cruiser. (Not sexy but practical when ya have to do yer own punctures)

At my usual tyre place we fitted a bare split rim onto the front axle.........and it's not a good idea.

The valve stem on the splt rim, that protrudes through the inside of the rim would rub against the top of the disc brake caliper.

So split rims on a 100 series turbo diesel can't be done.

I bought 4 secondhand one-piece steel rims instead, with 10 ply 265 tyres.

The thought of changing tyres on the Cruiser's alloy rims fills me with dread. Steel rims are much easier.

So it's steel rims for the bush and alloys fer "shopping"

Dont recall his name but a regular on here has been having problems finding bush freindly wheels that fit the TD cruiser.
From what I am seeing I would only be running splits with 12plus ply crossplys (like I have been doing) I will see how my MTR perform and I might go back to crossplys (I might anyway for bushwork I dread wrecking a 300$ tyre when a set of crossplys can be had for less than 600 bucks)
