Cant find a spec sheet for this , so thought someone here might have one.

Need a valve clearence for 4.5 L running roller cam and possi lock roller rockers . For some silly reason i have 32 in my head . Already tried 26 but no go , engine wouldnt rev over 7,000 rpm at 38 getting close to the 10,000 rpm range but roller rockers are working over time.

Thanks in advance

4.5L what, landcruiser motor?

7000-10,000RPM holey chit, I take it this motor has had a real solid makeover, don’t they limit it to 6000

Mine has hit 5500 a few times and has left the gage once at over 6000Rpm Punishment!!

Didn’t think much of it, assumed it was a lumper cam and new high ratio roller rockers, how much bigger is the cam and rocker ration over standard. Is it an aggressive cam that makes all its power up high or just a mild All rounder, How dose the Tojo ECU handle it or is it chipped/Aftermarket, you must have some decent Valve springs to take it the lift.

The Piston to Valve Clarence must be close, and at 7000+RPM I would be nevose LOL, Why dose it need to rev that high there would be nothing up there.

What sorta headwork has been done to it, Bottom end must be solid to take those high revs didn’t even think you could take one to 10.

I didn’t think there would be that much pro stuff around for a 4.5 Yota engine

Oh and can’t help with the question as have no Bloody idea, just interested in the build.

Rock Crawler, 10 grand out of a 1FZ-FE........HOOOAHHH!!! I'll have one of those too please. Tell me more!

Been reading about some of the mods for the 1FZ, they sure seem to deliver the goods somewhere in the range of 250kW and 520Nm's with a snail and chips under the bonnet. The specialist Toyota Landcruiser workshop here in Perth reckon for reliability and performance the 4.5's are the way to go. I'm delighted with mine.

All sorted today , 32 seams optimum.

Motor is a one of , we have been working on for some time , started off as a 4.7 Yota V8 but with closing combustion champers now reall yonly measures up to 4.5.

Cam is a solid roller , most specs on roller for for valve clearence are similar , but i couldnt for the life of me remember the spec. Was looking through some notes last night and found out optimum valve clearence , I was hoping there was another rev head here last night that could confirm the 32 clearence.

For those who have asked about the ecu. Its a aftermarket ECU with its own engine harnes , programable every 500 rpm via lap top.
