Gday all,
Im just after a little help or advice on the selection of a full set of shocks for a 1999 twin cab hilux . I was looking at Rancho 5000 until i read a few comments then thought about the old man emu and thought they were over rated and paying for the name then had a look at the xgs shocks and now im just confused about the whole situation.
any advice would be great .
cheers
Steve

Steve

If you do a search here you will find lots of good info on shocks.

I run Rancho9000x in my truck and I can only say good things about it.

Have not seen any neg reports on the XGS - I have them on the back of the Jack - good to date - been on some rumbly bush trips - they were happy - reasonably priced - strong twin tube construction - watch for specials - TJM had a whole set out about 9 months on discount - can't recall the $ but it was good. You coud opt for mono tube gas on the front (I use Koni) - runs cooler and not at risk of stones to the same extent as the back (hence twin tube). Whatever.

Would agree with the TJM XGS. I have them on my patrol and we have done numbeous trips including Googs, Gawler, Flinders, Simpson etc and are still feeling as good as new on the black top. Good price when compared to OME for (in my opinion) the same quality.
