Hi all, got a sec. opinion ,result is ,hubs are ok, 3 of the shocks are on the way out. Am going to fit 4 shocks [nothing flash] & get the koni's reconditioned later to put back when the 'el cheapos' $hit themselves.
But the other problem he found was the front brakes wereCOMPLETLY stuffed! also the w/bearings are past there best , so, $1300 [I didn't need that! b4 our trip] & 2 days late we are off in the morn. He's working till the jobs done tonite, the bloody parts mob sent the wrong discs!!!
Does anybody know who recons. these shockies in this area? the local 4wd mobs certainly don't. But, they will sell me new Bilsteen or old man e, yer right...
Off to Birdsville, cya all... Phil

Top Performance in Melbourne reco the Koni's.
Overnight express them down and they will do them the next day O/N them back.
They are pretty good to deal with.

From what I've been told it's about $100 a shock to re kit a koni. Any suspension specialist that deals with Koni's should be able to do the job. Have a look in the yellow pages and you should find one near you.

As you have found, I doubt the average "4WD mob" would be capable of repairing your shocks.

Thanks guys, will take two of them with me to Perth , & try & get them done there,[thats where they were fitted]. I did think that most ''lge'' 4wd mobs here would know where they could be done!
$100 ea. aint to bad , certainly way better than replacement cost. Thanks,& cya.... Phil

WA Suspensions in Osborne Park are a good bet to be able to recon them for you. Give them a call.
