Howdy howdy,
After posting on this
forum that I wanted a Vitara I've since bought one a bit over a year ago, done a few mods to it, CB, Dual battery set up with 96Amp Hour battery + 150W 240v inverter, good sound system, taken the backs seats out and put in a bargain bargo barrier off ebay which appartently acts as a roll cage... anyway cutting to the chase...
I've heard that the 8v head for the Sierra's 1.3 and the Vitara's 1.6 are a common part. The Swift GTi 16v fuel injected 1.3 head fits on the Sierra 1.3 no probs so I'm a figuring that you can put the GTi head on the vitara 1.6 without too much trouble becuase the heads and blocks are the same.
any advise or info would be handy.
thanks heaps,
Jimmy.

You'll need to swap pistons for 16v ones, make custom headers, efi fuel pump, sort out the distributor/firewall clearance, computer etc and at the end of the day you will have a head that doesn't flow as
well as the Vitara SOHC 16v plus puts it's power/torque where you don't really want it so then maybe you should look at getting some adjustable cam gears to shift it a little and/or even getting some custom grinds for the cams. Peronally I think you'd be better off with the Vit 16v or just getting your cam reground and fitting a decent exhaust. A 1.3 flywheel will help too.
