have you got a multi meter?
idid
mine the patrol ute.it had 7 wires.
1 power from the battery
2 power from ignition
3 earth
4left speaker +ve
5 left -ve
6 right+ve
7 right -ve
+ve from battery will have power all the time
+ve from ign. will only have 12v when ign. on.
i took the left and right +ve out and only put 1 in at a time to see which was which. the -ve will probably be the same colour but with a black stripe.
hope this helps. simple

lenie,
Go to supercheap, they sell plugs that are made up to suit Tojo's, and other makes. Even sell one plug, that has bare wires on one end to mount other type stereos

I had a weird one when I upgraded the stereo in the Toyota Starlet I get to work in.
The original had a green coming out of it which I assumed was an earth and I wired it up accordingly.
Then whenever I turned the
parking lights on it would blow the fuse.
It seems that the green was originally wired up to the
parking light circuit so that when you turned on the lights the LCD screen on the radio would brighten.
Went through a few fuses on that one!!!
