Have just scanned some old photos from when I was living in Darwin, they are on my "profile". They were taken in about 1980 during the wet season (had been through a few wet seasons by then) The Nissan (I think a G 60) was completly submerged, over the roof, The Toyota tray back is mine.
The recovery took place the next day, we only got the Toyota about half way back to the camp, it was too wet and just would not keep going no matter how much CRC we used, 5 k walk. After we got the Nissan out of the creek we had her going again in two hours. The photo of her driving through the creek is after we got her going.
The place we were at I think they call Litchfield NP now.
PS the first two are of the MU a little tame would you say.

One important thing I forget to mention was that all those guys on and in my truck going across the creek where from the Suzuki Club of Darwin. They turned up the next morning just in time to help us pull the Nissan out of the creek. After we got my truck across the creek I towed a couple of the Suzukis across untill the water level dropped enough for them to drive through with out floting away. What a weekend, we must have been crazy, but could them old trucks hande it.
Cheers Bruce.

Great photos from a much better time.
I like when you say "but could them old trucks hande it. ", wonder how many modern trucks would be the same.
