Hello Everyone, jsut to let you know that the Inside (Birdsville) Track is now closed due to flooding in the Diamantina River reaching Goyder's Lagoon (and all that lovely boggy black soil). It will open again - when it does.

You know Ruth with forecasting like that you will never get a job at the Bureau of Met................... It's way to accurate. :-)))))

Do you know if there is increased flow in the Cooper as well or is it just the Diamantina?

Duncs.

The Cooper is falling fast at Jundah currently 0.9m.
At Retreat (nearer Windorah) it is 1.22 and steady
At Nappa Merrie it is 1.98 and rising.

Duncs, I thought my forecasting was so good I should be able to get a job there - hahaha.
Yes the Cooper is rising and should get to Coongie Lakes - soon! They've got a flood and no rain same as in the Diamantina - flood and no rain.

Hiya Ruth.
That sounds a bit like the Smart Irishman who had a big Business in Melbourne and wanted to retire early so he set it alight and burnt it, got the big Insurance payout and moved to the Goldcoast.18 months later he meets an Aussie from Wangaratta and he just moved to the Goldcoast too and built a huge house and the Irishman asked him how he could afford such a place and he told the Irishman he was flooded out and got a big Insurance payout , The Irishman then said .... wryly ...how do you start a flood !!

Honestly, you two...........
Sorry, Gramps, I did forget to put (this year) BUT the flood usually happens every year and every year the Inside Track closes as does the Warburton Crossing at the bottom of the K1 - that'll be next when the water gets down to there.
As for you Doug, Dusty's jokes are much better. LOL.
