After reading about the problems with GU patrols cracking the chassis after fitting Polyair bags prompted me to ask the forum whether there has been any similar problems with the 80 series?

Ian, I have never heard of it , and I hear about a lot of 80 series :) I'm not suggesting that it has never happened, just that it doesnt seem to be a known problem.

Had them fitted for 5 years now and have never had a problem. Best thing that I have ever fitted.

Yes...same. Had Polyairs when purchased 4 years ago. Have loaded full with heavy Camper Trailer and have been faultless

I have had Firestone airbags fitted to my 80 series for 2 years now, with no problems. I think that as long as you don't overload the chassis above the legal limit (GVM on the compliance plate) you'll be OK. Overloading the chassis is likely to void your warranty and your insurance anyway.
Those who say something cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
