Just got back from 4 days wandering around some high country in victoria ,there is a little snow at thredbo and mt hotham on the ground as at yesterday its amazing how close mt hotham is to nsw skifields you can see from one to another, went up blue rag track, looks scarier than it is well worth the trip if you are in the area, also found great camping area at talbotville. Its surprising how much regrowth there is of eucalypts there has been since the fires, the regrowth is approx 6 feet high and much denser than the parent tree population, found several tracks blocked by single tree falls....take your chain saw with you if you go....

Hi Brian, got some pix? Add yours to those in Places under the names Mt Blue Rag and Blue Rag Range Track. When do they close the Dargo High Plains Road? It must be nice to see it with some snow. Did you check out the views from Mt Freezeout? Cheers, Warrie

Charlie's Plain - you are referring to Davies Plain, not Dargo High Plains.

Dargo High Plains Rd has a seasonal closure gate at the entrance to the Alpine NP (on the Dargo side of course). During the snow season, however, the Shire or VicRoads put up Road Closed signs near the Grant turnoff. But the closure seems to be nominal only and lots of people drive up to the park boundary to see the snow. It is well worth doing so.
