Ladies and gents,

the following link is a video of a section of a day trip that I completed on the weekend outside of Perth. It is a good example of how a small misjudgement can have the potential for disaster.

hopefully that worked!!!

As ascending a hill, it was necessary to stradle a rut (note that another vehicle made it to the top prior to my attempt). as nearing the top, the front right wheel hit a smal rock, which inturn kicked the rear right wheel into the rut, causing the vehicle to overbalance.

My only saving grace was the fact that the rear right corner of the larger than standard tray fitted to the rodeo met the side of the rut, not allowing me to rotate any further.

PURE LUCK!!!

Call me what you will, an idiot, bloody lucky, or even try to convince me to buy an engel, I dont care, I just wanted to share my experience with the rest of the forumites and show that very small laps in judgement, could prove to have very grave consequences (such as the potential divorce I nearly had when my partner saw the video file)

Happy 4wheelin

Mike

Okay the bits it adds to your account doesn't let us in I think. Only you when logged in. I changed it to Site Link

And it let me download the file, but now I can't play it as I don't have the right plug in installed.

If it were me I'd keep it in mpeg, avi or wmv file then at least people can play it.

Tried that, for some reason when it uploads, the host changes it to the flash version as it was an AVI.

I will try again tonight

I have changed one of the settings on the account to read public. I have tried accessing one of my previous links and it has allowed. Hope it works for some, if not my appologies.

I watched it ..................ROFL its not the fear of rolling but the fear of telling the misses about the OOPPPPSS factor which they don't seem to understand very well LOL.

No offence intended ladies :)

I would say your butt cheeks were clenched tight and eyes like dinner plates.

End result good ................ did you get up there in the end?

Now it works - I clicked on the first "Site Link" in the middle of the web address above.

It's sooooooo good when people actually get stuff like that on video....

Luck for you you didn't have evidence to show the missus on the side of the truck. Undies can be thrown out before you get home and the video watched at a mates place....

RAOFLMAO

ro-dah-o

"small laps in judgement" I think you can put that down as the resean for most accidents.

And so, a stiff drink after that lot?

No more lapses O/K?

G'day Mike,

That sound I heard, just before the pax wheel went upwards, was that your clacker valve closing with a bang........LOL

Always look on the bright side, minimal damage, everyone safe......and not too many people know about it...........

Cheers

preceeding the closing was a very quick opening!!

No damage done at all except for tarnished ego and a small scratch on the corner of the tray, blends well with the rust.

as i explained, if she had been in the passengers seat at the time, we would have had enough weight to keep the front end down (then came the slap on the back of the head!!ouch)
