Any good or bad points appreciated. Regards Steve M. PS yes have done a search but nearly everthing about the other brands mentioned virtually nothing on the Kipor. Thankyou.

I have a 2Kva Kipor and very happy indeed. It's done about maybe 50 hours so far. Beautiful quality AC going by my oscilloscope...
A friend has the Honda 2Kva and he's very jealous..... of the price I paid ($899 Vs $2,000) The Kipor is very good on fuel -with similar loads we can't pick much difference between the Kipor and Honda on fuel consumption- (IMHO there's nothing in it -contrary to what some people say!)
I believe the Kipor is nearly as good as the Honda/Yamaha, but a lot better value. Probably the worst problem is slightly variable quality control (eg: loose screws), but hopefully you'll sort out any issue you could possibly have during the warranty period. I have had NO issues other than a bit of dirt in the fuel, and I think it was my fault- it was sooo easy to remove and clean the carby!!
In summary- very happy indeed. I would not be paying another $1,000 odd just to get the Japanese made, can't see the value in that.
Cheers

Are you sure the Kipor is smaller than the GMC? I almost bought a Kipor last week until I checked the size of their 1KW unit against my GMC and found it was quite a bit bigger - I thought???
