G'day to you all, Scoey in particular.
I posted the other week asking about
Byfield Nat Park, got some good feed back as
well. Thanks to those people, Also Scoey asked me for some
feedback, here goes.
We ended up camping at Upper Stoney Ck which is off the main road to
Byfield by @ 12km's, very good
camp ground imho,
toilets, creek water on tap, fire
places, no showers though. If you tow a camper not all sites are accessible,
ranger was very helpful on this front,we camped in
site 12 was close to the
toilet but
campground wasn't very busy, from memory sites 4-8, 12-13, 16,17,18 are good for trailers. You will need to book. driving in
Byfield itself wasn't too hard but as some have said when it is dry the sand is soft and deep. I aired down to 25psi to start with and no trouble until I went in the
orange bowl I think it is called, aired down to 20psi and found it no problems.(driving a dx 80 serieson 235/85 16 tyres) The few from the look out at Stockyard township is excellent. Five rocks
camp ground is closed, Boom gates stopping access even for lunch. The brochure from qpws is a good one to get. Hope this helps.
Cheers Andrew

G'Day Andrew!
Sounds like you had a top trip - thanks for the
feedback, all really good info! :-)
Well we're heading off in 3 weeks and I can't wait! Thanks for the advice on the tire pressures too! I'd rather let them down early than after i'm stuck! ;-)
Hey by the way, did you throw a line in?
Cheers
Scoey! :-)
