Hi guys, I am wondering if you might be able to give me a bit of help!
We are heading down to Coolendel for the weekend, and want to do a bit of 4WDing, of course!
Last time we were down that way, April 29th, 2006 (to be precise), both Yarramunmun (though the
gate at the southern end was closed, but not bolted, we just opened it and drove through, and then closed it again!) and Monkey Gum were open, but just wondering what he latest news is.
Has anyone been there in the last week, or has any up to the minute information?
Thanks, Jo

Gosh, this is a hard one to try and find out from the tourism office/council etc......
Basically given the run around for the last hour!!
The low down from the council is that they are all open, but would prefer if we didn't use them!!!!
I'll leave it at that then shall I??????????
Of course we are going to be sensible, and if the area is just too wet, we will leave
well alone!
Let you know on Monday what the result was!

Tried that! They don't have anything to do with it, it is crown land! As far as NPWS were concerned they thought that it had been shut for the last 5 years!!!!!
Rang the Shoalhaven Council, and they don't look after it either, as it is crown land, means state government!!!!
I spoke to a lady who had something to do with fire something or other, within the council, as that was as close as I could get! She knew a bit about the fire trails!
She doesn't want anybody using the tracks - ever!!!!!
Not very helpful!!

Just try it,
Sometimes the gates being closed but not locked could be the result of others wondering in and not wanting company. Ive seen it before. Besides as far as worrying that you will be fined goes....Nope that wont happen as the
gate was NOT locked with a padlock.
Hope ya have fun....going to be pretty muddy in there..sounds perfect.

I'm going tto Coolendel myself with the same intention of travelling through those tracks, there will be a few of us and we are hoping to have a bit of fun showing some of the guys all about 4wding or how not to do it!!!
Come over and say hello, my cruiser stands out a bit so I shouldn't be too hard to find.

Due to the horrible weather, we have actually decided to stay
home, and do a day trip tomorrow!!
Thanks for the info guys! We will make it down there sometime soon, and do the track then. Hopefully when it is a bit drier!! Camping in the rain with kids, is not really fun!
