Hi All,

Has anyone removed the stock CD/Radio in a GU III and mounted a new head unit and a GME4400? I was wondering if there are any gotchas involved?

thanks,

Brendan

I whacked in a new CD player and the GME4400 in the landcruiser and had no troubles.
The Cruiser and the Patrol apparently have a similar set up so just go for it.
The 4400 is a little bit narrower than tha CD unit so i placed some black foam on each side to hide the gap and decide if you want to fit the external speaker before hand to save you removing the dash again.

Gotta love listnin to the cop's frequency .

Kev,
did you have to get any additional hardware to mount the 4400? or did you use the old bracket from the CD/Radio that came out?

cheers

On the cruiser there a plate on each side of the radio that screws into the dash.
Because it is Din mountable it means it will bolt up to these original plates.
The screw holes on the CD unit and the UHF will line up with the plates and no modifying should be needed.

Give it a go !
