I am looking at upgrading my exhaust to somewhere between 2.5 and 3" system. I hear it gives better fuel economy, and i hear it gives a beautiful womp womp sound. Anyone done this to their patrol lately? Would love to hear what you used and how much it cost. I was told Lukey sports are good?

Hi,
I have a '99 model 2.8 intercooled turbo diesel Patrol.
I had a 2.75" straight through turbo exhaust fitted. Removal of original exhaust and fit straight through muffler.
It did improve the power (both torque and top end) and fuel economy noticeably as it allows the turbo to spin up properly and the turbo takes care of the exhaust noise that would normally be quitened by the muffler.
It does make it slightly noiser but just turbo whine.
I had it done at Men at Work at Capalaba near Brisbane and it cost $375.
I don't know where you are but they did excellent work.
Mine does not have mandrel bends and I'm told that that would improve it even further.
