Hi I am currently converting my 1987 2lt hilux to series 1 v6 commodore engine and I have a few questions for anyone who may have done this before.

I bought the conversion bellhousing from castlemaine rod shop but after fitting the v6 engine to the bellhousing and gearbox I find the engine is sitting 3 inches to low for the engine mounts, I can not lift the engine into place due to the gearbox and bellhousing hitting the tunnel and firewall. It seems the only way out is to mount the engine and gearbox further forward as suggested by the rod shop, this would solve the bellhousing clearance problem but would also leave me with a major tunnel mod on the cards. Anyone with any Ideas? Any info from someone who has done this conversion before would be greatly appreciated as all I seem to get from the supplier is dont know, havent seen this before etc.

Regards
v6hilux

Thought about a 2" body lift and spacing the transmission/tcase down 1 inch, ie tilting the whole lot down at the rear?

Try here for more detailed information/assistance, heaps of ppl have done it
