I have just (today) received their OVERDUE
Membership renewal...I never received the original renewal and now, for the second time, it would appear that my callsign will be returned to the '
pool' so that they can issue a 'matching callsign' to my selcall number, as per "...callsign allocation policy .. Policy 05, Revision 6"
This happened to me once before, when I moved house and the new owners failed to forward mail and I subsequently lost my much coveted callsign, Victor 3, which they allocated to another member who was 'waiting' for it to come up....(I had been a founding member and the second to join from Victoria, and paid religiously over the ten years or so...). There is certainly no reward or respect for long standing
membership.
Like some others here, I think the service they provide to outback travellers is wonderful, but the officious attitude that seems to eminate from the management of the organisation is unnecessary.
