I went to the Bli Bli Barra farm on the sunshine coast yesterday and had a great day.

There where 3 adults and 6 kids we all caught at least 2 Barra each around 2kg but while we where there some one else caught a barra in the Big boys pond 1100mm long so they are there.

Cost of the day for us was $15 for the kids $30 for an adult for 3 hours fishing using there gear and bait.

If you wish to keep the fish you pay an additional $20 per KG.

We bought home a 1.8kg barra I want to cook it tonight on the BBQ have you go any suggestions on how to do this and may be what to stuff it with or just leave it plain?

I would recommend a day out at the Bli Bli Barra Farm.

Thanks BBB

Stuff with some sliced lemon/garlic and butter etc, splash with white wine, wrap in foil and throw on bbq.

Cooked my first ever fish (barra fillets) the other night, got the wife to add some salt, pepper, seasoning and lemon. Chucked it on the weber for 5 mins on each side and it turned out perfect.
Was very lucky I didn't use tongs either as it seemed very fragile.

Is Bli Bli near Nambour? yes?still $20 a kg for fresh and guaranteed Barra as opposed to imported frozen Bassa is not bad...
I like mine filetted and just rolled in some seasoned flour & grilled on the BBQ served with some potatoes just sliced, so you end up with discs rather than chips than can also be grilled on the hotplate with a little olive hoil to stop them sticking....Sort of rustic fish & chips...

There is an Australian herb available in some shops called Lemon Murtle (actually comes off a tree) which is fantastic with all fish including Barra. Just a bit of that and wrap in foil and straight on the bbq. delicious!
