Hi,
We are planning on
buying a 4WD and setting it up for camping. I'd love to buy something with a cool drawer system already installed but as we are looking at paying less $10k I dont like our luck!
Can anyone recommend a place, in/near
Brisbane, that if we bought a LC which sitll had lots of seats - would remove the back seats and build a simple hinged platform which would give a sleeping place above the wheel arches and storage underneath . I'm thinking plywood would do it ?
I've seen them done like this but as we are alerady on the road in
Brisbane this is not a noption. I know the specialist
places like ARB will put in the cool stuff -but that costs $2000 - anyone know of someone who would do a cheaper option for us?

Done the same as you... looked at the pricing of draws and nearly choked...
Also with 3
young children having the extra seats in the back is really handy..
So for now i've just had a shelf made out of steel and I put MDF over that. I designed it to be easy to remove from the vehicle and had legs made... So when we get somewhere and unload it becomes a table :-)
Cost about $200 from memory in labour.. (they threw in the steel for free, lol)

So far its the international airport :-) We arrive in March we live in NZ - maybe staying with friends so could really be anywhere in SE Queensland I just used Bne as shorthand! The LC is yet to be bought but given our budget its probably going to be a 1990 or earlier which is I think a 60, 70, or 80 series?
