We've made the big move.

He he, once I get settled and do a bit of exploring I was going to organise a few trips for my 4wd club, I'll PM you on p4x4 or somthing when that time comes along and you can join us if your free! Generally only small groups of 2-4 cars come away, our group is only very small.

Rosa Glen hey... I'll have to check it out. I'm truley in 4by heavan here, I don't know where to start! All these places I've always wanted to explore but only ever had a weekend - most of which was filled with the driving to and fro.

Where to go? Agusta, Collie, Harvey, Brunswhick, Nanaup, Pemperten, Denmark, mate it's just full on. Can't wait to get all this sorted out, dust off the camping gear and get out there! I've already done some driving on the beach around Augusta and went from Sues road along the blackwood river to Margaret river, but there is heaps I want to go see round here and the state forrest between here and Nanup is months of exploring on it's own!

the greenies love that area too, especially as there are a couple of patches of old growth through there, but still plenty to explore. Alsio, it is bitumen now from sues rd to Margret river :( that was always my favourite short cut when I lived in nannup

the pine plantation north of Nannup is great (whats left of it) Some fantastic hill climbs and the likes. If you take the bailingup rd, then immediately first R (goes past the old freemasons cottage, turns into gravel. follow up and if you take the fire breaks to the left and follow the fence line, you will, I guarantee, have some fun ( or end up upside down ;))

Perhaps an EO gathering down that way in the future.

Some great stuff along the blackwood, especially N of sues rd. You also have black point, white point (aparently gates are now locked and you need to contsct the property owner for permision to cross his land)

Jeff you mean the plantation between Hawter and Ferndale Rds Balingup. Was in there last weekend. Absolutely great day and the tracks are very steep, some nicely rutted. DEC (CALM) has done a lot of grader work due to the fire season but still lots of fun.

There were a lot of fallen trees too... Need to invest in a good chainsaw and go clean them up a bit. Otherwise people just tash the bush around the tracks by trying to go round them. There was a suprising amount of mud too, considering how dry it has been. Actually went through one section of track where the mud would have been half way up the rims.

Yeah we found out about the tourist thing... It was fine until boxing day, then we figured we had to stock pile alchole from Condello's in Bunbury as the local prices went through the roof! We also started stock piling groceries as a trip into town was an absolute nightmare!! They reckon with Christmas and the South Bound concert the two weeks after Christmas there were over 100,000 people down here. Somehow the whole of Tasmania came to our little town for two weeks! LOL

But then like it started, every bugger just bleep off to whereever they came from, it's really quite biazzare.

It's also ironic how the locals who depend on tourism hate the tourist season! haha. I ended up taking my "Perth 4x4" stickers off the 4by because it screamed "tourist" and I'd get dirty looks all the time! ;-)

Dunsborough, yeah it's amazing, I remember when it was just nothing. Funny little place, all these expensive houses and nearly 50% of them are unoccupied as they are only holiday homes. You got all this new flash ass townsite and shops and everything just for people to use when they come on holiday!?
