I've used the "Sakuri" (think that's how it's spelt) brand which come in a box identical to the Tojo ones, are labelled the same as the Tojo ones and look identical to the tojo ones with no problems and they were much cheaper than genuine.
I vaguely remember that years ago someone cut both a gen and a Sakuri open and they appeared to be identical inside as
well.
I've never liked Ryco ones after having probs with little bits of filter material clogging timing chain tensioners on an 18R Tojo motor in the early 80's.
If you stick to brand names like Baldwin etc you can't go wrong.

whatever oil filter you get, make sure it has a anti drain valve installed, this is what separates genuine/non genuine prices and are a big plus towards engine life in a 1HZ

G'day Signman,
Used to always use genuine but for last 6yrs using Donaldson oil and fuel filters and lots cheaper. The oil filter is same as genuine with same valving.
Did have 75 series and now have 78 for 4yrs.
Find yourself a filter dealer that sells the Donaldson's and compare pricing.
Fuel filters are a look a like and have no dramas, 2 of my mates have same vehicles and we buy in bulk, but I can get same price myself.
Oil filter # P550413.

Signman, I can reinforce what Harry said. Donaldson filters are top quality and what we use alot of in the mining industry. You'll probably have to get them from a heavy diesel mob like Gough & Gilmour (CAT Dealer in NSW) or a truck parts mob.
I bought a heap from the dealer in
Cobar about 2 years ago and they came out cheaper than the Ryco ones from SuperCheap.
In July 05 (still have the reciept) I paid $7.11 for the paper fuel filter, $17.96 for the spin on fuel filter, $17.27 for the oil filter and $31.94 for the air filters all excluding GST. Excellent value.
The air filer can be run until the light comes on in the dash...thats how they run them in dozers etc if working in real dusty conditions.

I also use genuine, but if not available where you might happen to be, Fleetguard LF 3608 is very good, has an effective anti drain back valve which is essential in the 1hz engine.
Repco would be about the worst.

Signman,
Cheaper to buy a filter than an engine.
