Not very exciting, but as I am in UK and my Troopy is in Africa, and I need to buy a set of roof bars (to bung my tent on), I would be really happy if a kind troopy owner could tell me the height from gutter to top of the roof, as
well as the roof width gutter to gutter. For obvious reasons the lower that I can get away with the better! Was looking at roofracks, but prices here in EU pretty much scuppered that - plus you can't really take them on a plane!!
Cheers,
Gil

gilghna,
The legs on my rack are 210mm high giving clearance from roof to rack of 80mm.
The width, gutter to gutter I measure at 1450mm.
Not measured with a micrometer so give or take a couple of millimetres.

Iwould agree with Banjo on the width as 1450 but Iwould allow a minimum of 165 from gutter to top of roof. Also remember there might be some bending of rack when loaded.

If I had the chance I would have more clearance under the rack, if only to enable my hand to get under the rack without skinning my knuckles when washing the roof. I would hope that the rack was strong enough and that the load wasn't that heavy for bendind to occur.

Thanks Guys,
that is a great help. Rack should take the weight okay but as you say I will keep plenty clearance. I would guess the tent weighs about 60kgs or so,
