My CD player has just about given up the ghost - full of dust and does not like corrugations. I have had an iPod since August - I tried several FM transmitters (borrowed from family & friends) and have not been really happy with them

Several weeks ago I saw the Harman Kardon on the internet - not expensive at $149, so I got one and fitted it this weekend - Looks great and sounds good

Note I have no association with them - just reckon its a good product at the right price

Trekkie.

I just fitted a new JVC CD head unit to the Disco, it has a USB socket to plug a flash drive into, no more CD's just copy anything you want to listen to onto the flash drive & plug it in, too easy.

I just don't trust the i-pod stuff, too many in built problems.

I agree, I have 4 flash drives with MP3s or WMAs , no CDs,No wires/Cables and Adaptors , I been told the iPod can hold hold 1000s of MP3s , I need no explanation on that either, I know what a small hard drive is , once again it's listening to music via a device which has a turning/spinning action, But then it is a matter of choice , if you don't like , don't buy, and the main thing is, if Trekkie gets enjoyment from his device.....[iPod I mean] then that can only be good

I have an ipod adaptor I bought from pie.net
Hooks in to the factory headunit via the CD-stacker port and your first 6 playlists are seen as CD's in the stacker.
$130 to my door :)

iPod are not the best MP3 player on the market. In fact they are one of the worst. Unfortunately they have done the best marketing.

Before you waste money purchasing an iPod look at the alternatives.

I agree, but it is a bit like Microsoft and Apple, or VHS and Beta. Ipod have such a huge section of the market that everything you buy is made for ipod. I just bought a new head unit which had an ipod connection as an optional extra. I assumed that it would play my Creative Zen, but of course it does not, so now I have had to buy an ipod.

goodday fellas and others
my wife bought me for christmas a jvc dvd playing unit with external camera and ability to fit ipod
i bought the ipod adaptor and hooked up my 30 gig ipod and now have about 3000 songs so can travel without radio (which suits me a lot of the time) and have just finished hooking up the camera to the back of the caravan(and it works !!!!!!!)
i am quite happy with the ipod which connects in istead of a stacker and it just sits in the glove box and all controls through the radio
