This is a short post to let any of the Qldr's that were at the BBQ today know that I have a large multicoloured umbrella that was left at the gathering. If it is yours it should provide enough of an excuse to come and Join Pezza and I up at Landcruiser Mtn Park, next weekend to collect your lost property LOL!!! (any excuse)

I will take this opportunity to also thank all those that attended today as it made for a really enjoyable day. Thanks to all the new faces I met and get stuffed to all the familiar ones I already knew hehehe. See you all at another one soon.

Regards, Trevor.

Well I for one had a good time and was great to put some faces to the names and meet a few of the old faces. Mind you I have a VERY bad memory for names, hell I cannot even get my own NET name correct lol the people there will know what I mean figured i'm living on The Gold Coast.

As for the day, well I rocked up around 10ish I guess, and the car park was full as a butchers chook, not only from trailer boats but two motor bike clubs were in attendance, so parking space close was more good luck than management. A few were already there and over the next hour or so the group swelled to 20 odd. A good social time was had by all and the exchange of info on trips and locations was great as well, of course I have another location I want to see after the gathering in SA at this rate I will need two months and not the one I am carrently
looking at. So much to see so little time :) (and money :(:( oh hum).

The weather gods sort of favoured us and only showered will we cooked on the BBQ, all other times it was fine (go figure). the kids had a great time with the play ground and good riding area all with a view over the river. Some one brought out a choclate cake and it looked fantastic, I wanted a slice, eyed it a couple of times, but, having already parked a spare tyre over the tool shed I left well enough alone (bugger).

I had a look at Gary's (hope thats right) rear draw set up in the cruiser and he did a good job in building it and only cost couple of $$$ in the bargin, now all i gotta do is BUILD mine and stop thinking about it I seem to keep building it in my head and redesigning.

It was not long before a bonnet was up (nissen) not sure why must have been some "naughty pitcure books" or something cause it drew blokes to it quicker than a beer at the footy. I was told later being a nissen nothing goes wrong with them so I can only summise why the bonnet was up. At least a great vehicle was parked between the nissens a mighty cruiser a STAND out really but lets not open old battles grounds here lol ..........

Moving right along It was not long before a map hit the table to get a view on the planned tracks people are considering heading to and from the SA gathering with more locations getting added to the must see list.

As the afternoon moved on people started leaving and I finally departed about 3ish and made the trip back to Bris which was not a bad drive and the traffic was fine (for a change).

Anyway thanks to Trevor and Pezza for organising wll catch up again soon.

Brian from Bris

Great trip report.

You were looking into Craig's drawers in the back of his cruiser (kids around and all, tut tut tut.) not Gary's. I am sure Craig has been called worse though, so don't worry too much.

Good to see you again.
Trevor.

Thanks Trevor.

Had a great time.

Now every one knows my name is John C too.
And no one called my wife Mrs plodder, which is great.

Cooking under an umbrella wasn't too bad, and I noticed I got left to turn the last of the snags in the rain. Some people around smarter than me it seems.

Look forward to catching every one next time.

PS - who said my pajero looked like a jeep on my rig pic? tsk, tsk.
One of the Trevors?

Not this one, I would not be that insulting on our first date LOL!!! Or did I mistake you for the other John C (who was driving a Jeep) ??? Sorry if I did, I know how bad that would have felt for you hehehe. If the other John C is reading this, I am stirring the pot if you haven't guessed LOL!!

Thanks for yours and Colette's company, you are both very nice people and I would most certainly look forward to our next encounter.

Hey guys.
Trev the umbrella is Tims, they turned around and came back for it but you'd already stolen it.. They were last known to be headed to the cop shop to report the stolen item..
Yes although we were fashionably late ( with my work times you gotta be able to enjoy a sunday sleep in!) it was good to see everyones faces again and meet some new ones.
John when I introduced myself at the table I didn't click on at first when you said your name, it was when you came over to the other seat where I sat down that I realised it was you. It was great to finally meet you, we have definately crossed paths before off the tracks.
Brian you wrote a great report!! we might have to make you the trip report writer!
It was really great to catch up with you all again, can't believe it has already been a good 4/5 months since we last saw each other.. surely it can't be that long.... except for Pezza, we've seen his mug a few times since the last major gathering.. it hasn't changed much either!
Is my bed time guys so have a good day, trev you might want to hand yourself in because I saw some posters stuck on the green telephone poles...
Cheers everyone
Jo

Thanks Jo, I saw Tim coming back to the park but he did not have a UHF on so I could not get in touch with him. I will send him an MM to get the brolly back to him.

As you said, it has been too long between catch ups so lets not let it happen again, I will call you after Easter for another BBQ or similar.
Regards always, Trevor.

Hi Trev,

Yes definitely my brolly. I have replied to your MM as well. I'm with the rest - thanks for organising another great barbecue. Maybe we should organise a UHF channel even for social events then I would have known where to listen for you?

I also vote for Brian to be the trip reporter (not sure which Brian though :)), great story.

Thanks again,

Tim.

UHF,

2 channels I would have tried are 40 & 17.

I normally sit with it on 40, to catch any truckies reports or to talk to them.

Have scan on sometimes (but not around Brisy - too busy) and will switch to 17 for club use. Or 18?

What does every one else do?

Hey Tim, good to meet yourself and your good wife.

It is getting a while, forgetting names already.

Hi John,

Yes, it was great to meet you and your wife as well. All the others I had not previously met too.

I actually didn't even have the UHF on as every time I have it on anywhere near Brisbane I get sick of the idiots telling their mates about what has happened in the last few days with so much swearing and personal information that you wonder if they even understand the concept that radio is a public forum.

I think we probably need to set a channel for a gathering just in case anyone needs to get in touch due to getting lost or late or such like as well as stupid things like forgetting a brolly :).

I'd vote for 18 I think, nice channel near the middle, doesn'[t seem to upset anyone etc.

Tim.

Hi Guys,

If I arrange a gathering, I will keep to your idea and designate a UHF channel in the gathering post.

Tim, I feel sure I can get your brolly back to you by next year but if it is anything like Andrew's rear bumper it may turn into two years.

Hey Trev,
It's alright mate, as soon as I find out what prison they transfer you to I'll visit you :-))) (Check inside the fruit cake before eating it, ok )

I have done the trip report for those interested ( I cheated actually, I just coppied and pasted Brians report as it covered everything and was so good, hope you don't mind mate ?) I will put some photo's up as soon as I resize them, as the site doesn't seem to want to do it automatically anymore.
Thank you all those who turned up, it's always nice to meet new members/visitors and catch up with the regulars.

Thanks especially to you John (Oldplodder) for finishing cooking my snags for me in the rain, whilst I was attending to my young fella after having a stacker on the way back to the shelter, I owe you a beer, would've given you one on the day except the ones in my fridge were warm due to my second battery going flat....no, really, it did !! Oh yeah, nice 'Jeep' you have there too mate, Hee hee.

Also to John. C. thank you for your nice MM, was going to reply to it a little later, as I was busy at the time, and when I went to retrieve it the system had deleted it. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife.

Cheers
Pezza
