G'Day All,

As a relatively new user of a coleman powerhouse, I'm trying to get my head round the best lighting procedure.

I am wondering what the little valve actually does? The one you turn up and down after a minute.

When I operate mine from the up to the down position, it seems to have no effect on the flame, should I be seeing some noticeable difference?

G'day Ron,
When you have the lever up, it only lets the vapour off the top of the tank go through to the burner, This is so the generator tube that sits over the burner can heat up enough so that when you put the lever down, the raw fuel that comes up out of the tank can instantly be vapourised by the heat into a clean flamable gas.
This also helps any residue from building in the generator tube during cold start ups.

Thanks for that.

so there should be no noticeable difference in flame when switching then?

I'm just checking it out as if it was not working right, not knowing what to look for I wouldnt know.

Seems to cook very good, although did a roast in camp oven on it, and after bout 2hrs I turned it down from med to low n blew out a couple of times.
Relit easily enough so may have been wind.

Just when using new gear you think...... is it right or is something wrong with it.

its a new way of cooking for me, most welcome though not lugging a 9kg cyl around, so just trying to learn the best ways to start n run etc.

Any advice, as always, mucho appreciated,

Rgds
