Went to buy a water pump for the 4by today, and the guy behind the counter

told me there where two aftermarket ones for my model or genuine. He then proceeded to tell me the genuine one was $300+, But had none in stock Then tells me the best seller was one of the after market ones $150 and was a better pump.

OK! i thought i'll have one,! But there was none in stock!!!!. So then he informs me i can have the other aftermarket one (crap) for $220

Bloody hopeless situation sometimes

Regards Axle.

So, other than the heinous crime of being out of stock, why was he a 'boofhead'?

Axle
It seems his crime was not knowing beforehand what stock he held, bearing in mind he must have 16000+ different items to keep track of, boy what a boofhead he is!!!

My years in auto spares tells me that the customer in front of me has the ONLY model that any manufacturer ever made, and why I did not have the part for his car was a personal insult to him and his offspring.

The guy tried to steer you straight, and then found out the purchasing guy let the side down, this does not make him a Boof Head, just a fool for trying to help and let down by others.

I am sure he offered to get one quick time for you. Or did you storm out before then??. Give him a brake mate, and go down there tomorrow and give him a big hug!!!! I am sure that will straighten him up and restore his cofidence a heap.

LOL
Colin

Why stock cheap crap and offer it at a dearer price than a quality fast moving item, ??.

If the genuine item is such good quality then why did the original equipment water pump die? Does that make the cheaper vesion better value?

If he was out of stock then it was probably someone else that sold the last one and somehow did not update the stock list. So maybe it was someone else who is a boofhead ?

To quote an old ad slogan "let your fingers do the walking" Buy else where. I just bought a water pump for my GU, prices ranged from $100 through to $300. I bought the only one in town. These days if its not a Falcon or Bommodore you have to wait a day, till it comes in.

Cheers Stefan

Yeah i thought the same thing, would not be lining his pockets !

Went to JV Marine in Springvale,Melbourne .At First i Was impressed by the size of the place, went to the fishing section and was their looking for about 10 minutes. Kept looking over at the 3 boofheads as if i needed help, They were standing at the fishing counter just chatting and perving on all the guys missus that were in the joint...Including mine..Bloody disgusting and will never go back and the girlfriend on the way out said i felt uneasy in their and thats the first time ive ever heard here say that and weve been in a few camping/fishing shops !

Another thing

Their trout lures were $12.99 and the same were $4.50 at Rays

So the Moral of the story is : Their ripping you off while perving on your missus !

I found Axle's story quite amusing,,,,,,,,,,,if I'd have been a fly on the wall, I'd have been rolling my eyes as well!

I agree with Axle - the guy's a boofhead. It musta been "Pythonesque"!

Axle, you ought to try the businesses around here ! Yesterday got a tyre fixed and asked for a new battery as well. No worries, in it goes. Flat as, not even dash lights. Come back this avo, and we'll have it charged. Gave them all night to charge it. This morning is a carbon copy. New battery is as dead as yesterdays news. They ring battery bloke. (around 11am)...he will be there around 3pm.
I felt sorry for the tyre guys, most embarrassing. But the battery business?
1) didn't rotate stock (new battery was too old to start the vehicle..my old one was better)
2) didnt provide the service that they should have
What a way for the battery company to do business.
