G'Day Guys, We have a work light set up on one of our Spare wheel carriers on the Troopy and its great. But on heavy corrugation it wrecks bulbs so we would like to change it to an L.E.D light which will be less prone to bulb damage on rough roads and also milk less power than a conventional spotlight bulb. Does any one have one set up and if so how much was it. We found one today and it is awesome but nearly $300 trade price. As always if thats what we have to pay we will but naturally if we can we would prefer to spend less if we can. Cheers

Jaycar have several LED light kits. You may be able to find one wher you just change the bulb in you existing light for a series of LED's. It may be a little work but will be significantly cheaper.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my work light so what I did was to not make it a permanent fixture & made it so it clips onto a bracket on the spare wheel carrier & put a plug & socket on the power source. That way I stow the light in the vehicle while travelling.

Depends what wattage globe you had in your reversing light, if it's 50+ watts forget LED's, you will not get the lumination out of them.

The only practical way is go HID, you can either buy a proper HID for $600+ or go on Ebay and get a conversion kit cheap and stick it in a old spot light.

I was considering buying a LED light called the ultralight. Thought it would be a good light as it claims that LEDs limit the UV light output. Would be handy to stop the bugs. The question I have is it bright enough for your needs? If anyone has one let me know if it works well, thanx.

Do you have Autobarn stores up there ?

We got one for $75 ,,,,,chucke out buckets of light..
Has cigerette light adapter as well,,,, 1 hr charge gives 5 hrs gr8 light

But , you need to look at 3 or4 together, as they all give out differing forms pf light,, some blue , some white, some inbetween ,,

or try Ebay
