Hi all,

anyone know how to remove the centre console from a GU? The bit I need to remove is the storage part back from the ashtray. I can remove all the screws but I can't seem to get the captive clips to let go where the rear of the console joins into the section for the ashtray and gear boots. What's also making it difficult is that access is restricted because it's a Cab Chassis and I can't get in "the back" to give it a good heave-ho :)))(

Any help appreciated (?).

Regards,

Hi Craig
Have you removed the screw or screws (cant remember) from under the ashtray & the ones right down the back on each side, just of the bottom of the storage section, you should be able to get to them if you push the seat right forward & come in from the other side???
Hope that helps
Cheers Steve.

Ahhhh....screws under the ashtray? The Gregory's manual didn't show any there! Got all the others you mentioned. Thanks Steve....I'll have another look at it this evening.

Hi Craig,

I think you need to remove the front section first, that's the part that goes over the gear levers.
Remove the gear knobs first, then the ash tray and the screw bellow it and the 2 screws either side closer to the dash. Now lift from the ash tray end first and this front section should come off.
Now you can try and remove the rear section.

Thanks Paul and Steve.

I found that there were in fact two screws up the front section of the rear storage console. Paul you are right that it easier to remove the front section first. Thanks again guys - problem solved thanks to EO :)

Craig.
