we are purchasing a 17'6 cruiser se, to travel with and to live in as we are selling our home to see the country. the weight of the van loaded is 2080kg. We have a ford series 3 sedan on duel fuel. we have been told to install a heavy duty oil transmission cooler , but we are a bit unsure weather to change the car even though it has a 2300kg heavyduty tow bar on it . has anyone been towing with a car similar around the country. if so what has the performance been like and are we quite ok in doing this.

With limited knowledge on subject of towing requirements the first thing I would do would be to check what the vehicle's towing capacity is.
Others will guide you on suitability or otherwise.

I agree ,

You may have a tow bar thats rating is greater than the vehicles towing capacity.

Check out the owners hand book for towing capacity or contact Ford.

I do not think this rig would be legal in NSW as the car weighs less than van, I would be looking at the very lest a Prado or Pajero
Good luck Pete

what ever you tow it with you'll need break-away brakes fitted to the trailer
