If you buy a Garmin product that takes the City Navigator or Metroguide you'll be ok. I think we use the same base maps as singapore. if not then your going to lay Australian City nav or Tracks4Australia over it anyway.
Do your homework here on the model you want before you buy it.

Mal,
If you havn't been to Singas before. the best place for electronics is Mustafas just north of little india, Or Lucky Plaza in Orchid rd (you'll have to bargain hard here).

No idea on your specific query but you might want to
check on warranty - I know I looked at buying a Canon camera in Singerss but was told the warranty would be void in Oz which put me off big time. Suppose thats how the big boys stop all the
grey imports and can have different prices/ models in each country
Cheers

I was in singapore a couple of weeks ago and I didn't think the price on electronics was really much cheaper than here.
Sim Lim square is the main electronics shopping centre. 6 stories of electronics shops all selling the same thing from what I could see. A lot of the locals seemed to be buying there though.

Yeah as above, I was in Singapore in February, Sim Lim Square is definately the biggest but price wise there is very little if any diiferance.
I was looking at a few specific things some of them were actually more expensive when u convert it into A$.

Sim Lim is just full of electronic gadgets, a lot of the shops have the exactly the same stuff though. I went all cashed up to buy some hand held GPS stuff for a mate and myself but had to really search around to find anyone that stocked them and then prices weren't that much different to
home.
If you want a bigger palm pilot type thing, then it would be the place to go, you may be dissapointed in the range of navagator bits available. car mounted stuff might be a different matter though.
