Gidday everyone I know you all get peed off with the usual what tyre should i run on my 4by or what pressure or is cooper better than micky thompsons or BFG's or will this tyre fit my wheel barrow with standard suspension or should i put 2 of one size on front and 2 smaller ones on back, anyway you know what i mean right???.......well heres a new one for ya all to think about.......you know how people use nitrogen in their tyres to run cooler?? well i was wondering if i was to fill my tyres with helium would it make my vehicle lighter? therefore creating less drag and cause my vehicle to use less fuel??? and if so , what tyre pressure should i run and what size tyre??...i suppose the more helium i use the lighter my vehicle would be??? also you think i would need a lift kit?? and what size?? oh and btw i own a Lada Niva with fuel injected VN V6 with turbo and chrome plated grease nipples Thanks everyone , hope to recieve your replies soon .......THE FATMAN

Actually, you'd do better if you put a few chooks in behind the crash barrier, then periodically beat the barrier with a stick to stir the chooks up. While flapping around, this should lighten the load of the vehicle.

Short answer is NO.
The mloecules are so small that they leak right through a balloon and would leak out of your tyres through the rubber and valves.

Change your standard motor oil to Emu Oil and it should run a lot better also.

OH about 200psi should do the trick at least you will get a bang out of it.
OR put a roof rack on and fill 1,000 balloons with helium and feel the lift.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

Use the V8 juice from the super markets!!. You will have so much power it won't matter what you weigh!!!
Now is the only time you own
Decide now what you will,
Place faith not in tomorrow
For the clock may then be still

Would be interesting trying to set the bead using the 'helium' method, put a little helium in the tyre, light it up, and see if there is any vehiclle/driver left!

The only problem being that helium is inert.

Not sure if the tyres have enough volumn to really make a difference.
How filling the cabin with helium and trying that?
Also, hydrogen is cheaper than helium, so try hydrogen first in the cabin.

Why not fill the fuel tank with hydrogen? Make the car nice and light and you will be running a hydrogen fueled car which we are told is very environmentally friendly.

Should go off with a bang.
