Hi. We are having problems with ants getting into our van via wheels, support brackets etc. I have used surface sprays etc but to no great effect.Does anyone out there have any other ideas?

Yeah we use Talcum powder around anything that touches the ground.
And to get rid of any Ants that are already in the Van we use Antrid, A few drops in the Ant
trails and it will fix the problem.
Surface sprays don't work as all the little buggers do is walk around it.
Regards
John

Yep powder works but there are somany ways for them to enter your van, along leads, cobwebs, sullage hose so keep the plug in or have a u bend in your sink pipe or sullage hose & the list goes on.
There are aslo
bates or spray called HOVEX PERMETHRIN ant killer sold at Coles some of my friends use with success.
Another effective one is neutra sweet yes the ones u use in tea or coffee they say crush them & add a drop of apple juice & ants love it, I can't put my finger on the article at present but if I do I will post it on for all to read. The worst of the ants is the very tiny black one to get rid of so keep the
bates full time in a cupboard.

Hi used to work for the shire and can tell you what will work is AMDRO but its expensive{you can get it in bunnings} what will do the same job is half a teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of BORAX {$5.00 out of bunnings} put on a lid near to ants and dont disturb them let them amass and eat as much as they want , they take it back to the queen and they all die off , takes a couple of days but the whole colony will be wiped out , its impotant you DONT put too much borax in with the honey as they wont eat it if theres too much of it in the mix, but it does work,
regards,
Dave
