Coolman
All,
Planning on heading up to Rivers Bend near
Canungra in a few weekends time. I already have the dirty weekends book. Does anyone know of any trips or tracks in the area which would be interesting?
I have detailed maps and GPS of the area so with descriptions or coordinates would be fine.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Coolman,
There is a nice drive near
Beaudesert. You head towards Kerry and take
Duck Creek Road and you end up at O'Reileys, then follow the road back down
and it will come out at
Canungra. It is a dirt road and the view is fantastic. Another good place to
camp is
Darlington Park, you will enjoy the camping at River Bend, it has two sections in which you can
camp..
Another Trip we do is, you head towards Boohah and take the road which goes to
Hat Head, this will take you up to
Carr's Lookout, stop and have lunch or morning or afternoon tea there, it's a great view. It is a long drive so will fill in a day. ]
You can also do the 14 rivers crossing also known as the
Condamine Gorge and this is on the way to
Carr's Lookout.
Oh, when you are in
Canungra, go to The Outpost cafe and have one of there pies,
they are to die for. Good hamburgers to!!!
