Just wondering on opinions on whether to put an engine management chip ( Steinbauer? ) or a
Beaudesert exhaust 3" mandrel bent exhaust system with a 3 1/2" dump pipe on my TD 100 series, just to get that little bit more performance without going over the top. Not used to diesels, so any comments particularly from anyone who has gone down this road would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Don't do either or both, not enough gain,
Do a "Bilbo" and shove a Chevy 6.5 V8 in instead.
From all reports on here, it will go like a shower of Shyte.
Don't forget it's still Phunny Phryday.
Cheers

Rob I have a few mates with Rice Burners fitted with Chips, they all swear by them. I have followed one of these guys with Prado, first trip was standard and the following weekend with a chip fitted, he was towing a 18ft van both times and the pull away power was very noticable....
Only thing I have seen do a bigger increase is the fitting of LPG to a diesel, this of course has a couple of extra bonuses, better economy and longer range due to extra tank.

Before you go ahead, why not
check out an LPG injection system - by all claims they make a significant difference to performance and economy. Will cost about $2000 after the rebate, (unless you're from WA when it will only cost $1000 including state rebate), you could replace a sub tank with an LPG tank and will save in vicinity of 15-20% in costs, improve performance noticably, reduce emissions to negligible amounts, and still be able to run on diesel if there is no LPG available! The difference to my TD Jack is substantial - more torque/power/revs freely right up to red line.

Thats the beauty with the diesel-lpg conversion.
We generally achieve bhp increases of 20% - 40% with a significant increase in torque to go with it once gas is fitted. Turbo lag is reduced due to the improved efficiency of the diesel burn so your not only making more power & torque but you're also putting it to the ground sooner.
When you consider that the engine now needs less fuel to create the same amount of power, you're saving money, using less fuel & driving a more powerfull vehicle. Not a bad result at all.
