I'm thinking of converting my 1992 Brumby to power steering. Would anyone who has carried out this conversion or has accurate information as to what is required help me out. What model steering components are required, does the crossmember need to be replaced or the existing one modified etc. Cheers Drew...

Any system out of a 80-84 touring wagon (wagon version of your Brumby) will fit. I fitted the A/c system from one of these to my 80 wagon and the power steering system was there also - wished I had taken it as well - seems a simpe bolt on system - only had but would be replacing the steering rack.

A wrecker will have what you want.

Gooday,
Lucky you , had one from new 1983 till sold it in 1999.
Give Sun Spares at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast a call, they are Subaru wrecking/ repair fix 'em specialists, sure they would give you great advice. Phone (07)5472-7222, or Google them, you won't be sorry.

Thanks for your help. I gave Sun Spares a call and thay were very helpful with the information and components I need for the job. I have a 1992 model with 70000km on the clock and it's a fantastic vehicle except for the power steering problem which will be fixed very soon. Cheers Drew...
